The Multi-Sport Complex in Mokokchung witnessed the commencement of the 1st Edition of the Inter-Departmental Sports Tournament 2023 on November 23, 2023. Organized under the auspices of the District Planning & Development Board, the sports event aims to foster camaraderie among public servants, transcending their official roles. The inaugural program featured a welcome note by Chumlamo Humtsoe, Additional Deputy Commissioner, and member of the organizing committee.

Humtsoe emphasized that the sports tournament provides a platform for public servants, irrespective of their official designations, to come together as participants, promoting better interpersonal relationships. He expressed confidence that such events would motivate individuals in public services to prioritize their physical fitness through games and sports.

Manoj Kumar, IPS, SP Mokokchung, extended greetings during the inaugural ceremony, highlighting that the Inter-Departmental Sports meet serves as a valuable platform for officers and subordinates to engage in casual interactions and build stronger human relationships. Representatives from Ao Senden also attended the event, extending their greetings to all participants.

The three-day sports event will feature competitions in Badminton, Table Tennis, Carom, Chess, and Arm Wrestling.
