SDO (C) Arhomo Yanthan unfurled the 1st Inter School Tournament flag and kicked off the tournament. He congratulated the Aboi Town Students Union President and his colleagues for organizing such a great opportunity for the youths and students of Aboi in particular and the Konyak community in general and wished all the best to the participants and the organizing committee. He further added that sports is a field that not only serves as an income but also nurtures one's body and mind all the while making friendships and opening up much more opportunities. It also serves as a purpose of entertainment for those who love watching sports.
Pastor Rev. Yeanphong, Aboi Town Baptist Church invoked God's presence and blessings for the tournament. The keynote address was delivered by Hamshen, ATSU, President followed by felicitation of the recently declared HSLC and HSSL subject toppers and distinctions holders. Lydia from St. John School secured 100 marks in Social science and is the subject topper in Nagaland. Three students from Longshang Memorial High School secured distinctions in all subjects: Daman Dalal (92%), Honai Konyak (88%), and W. Lily (82%)
Nokom Konyak, 1st president of ATSU led the lighting of the Tournament torch, and Hongnao Konyak, Games and Sports Secretary led the oath-taking ceremony. Out of the 16 educational institutions, 13 are participating in the Inter School Tournament.
