1st Hornbill RC Model Competition and Aviation Airshow were held at the Nagaland State Stadium, Dimapur, Nagaland from 5th December till 6th December. I. Kitto Zhimomi IRS, Commissioner, and Secretary, Tourism Department, Government of Nagaland was the special guest at the programme.
I. Kitto Zhimomi said that the 10 day-event of the Hornbill festival has more than 600 events, so the students should grab the opportunity to learn from the events. The edition of this RC show is one such initiative and said that the aviation sector has lots of opportunities coming up. He also noted that this event is not just about flying remote control planes but also empowering the next generation. He said that they are trying to connect all 16 districts with 16 aircraft which they are working hard on which will not only help the tourism sector but also help the villagers sell their art and craft work and improve the economic process.
This program was participated by the Maple tree, Little Star School, Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec School, St John Higher Secondary school, and Emporium. Mhonjan Humtsoe GM (East air and Charlie Service) as a chairperson, and welcome address by Obed Ezung, Managing Director of East Air and Charlie Services.
