The Department of Industries and Commerce and Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (NIDC) successfully organized a 2-day workshop on "Dedicated Workshop on Packaging, Branding and Marketing with the Experts" under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme held on March 27th and 28th, 2025, at Tetso College, Chumoukedima, equipping 107 trainees on Day 1 and 72 trainees on Day 2.
The workshop was aimed at equipping Enterprises from Nagaland with the essentials skills and ideas on Packaging, Branding and Marketing by bringing in industry experts for a thorough workshop teaching essential skills on branding, packaging, and marketing. The Experts present were Sasha Keneivonuo, Branding and Marketing Consultant, Ex AVP Marketing Lenskart, Ex Head of Digital Strategy, Good Glamm Group to teach on the Branding Modules; Neha Kumari, Marketing & Social Media Consultant, Ex Social Media Marketing & Growth Lead at Lenskart to teach the Marketing Modules; and Vinay Gupta, Founder, Dots & Squares Design to teach on the Packaging Modules.
The inaugural Session was led by Er. Keneirienuo T Zatsu, Deputy Director Industries and Commerce, Government of Nagaland as the Chairperson who introduced the Experts and about the Workshop. K Francis Hekavi, Joint Director Industries and Commerce Government of Nagaland graced the occasion as the special guest where he encouraged attendees to maximize the benefits of such workshops, emphasizing the pivotal role of branding, packaging, and marketing as catalysts for business growth. Highlighting the importance of packaging and branding, he stated that these elements are crucial for creating a lasting first impression, which often determines the success of an enterprise's product in the market.
Day one of the workshop commenced with an overview on marketing fundamentals, emphasizing on consumer engagement, and case study on industry best practices. Participants explored branding strategies, with expert Sasha Keneivonuo teaching sessions on personal branding, brand storytelling and exercises on developing personal brand frameworks.
Building on branding insights, the workshop transitioned into Packaging and Marketing strategies on the second day. Vinay Gupta led sessions on impactful packaging design, focusing on logos, taglines, and sustainable packaging solutions. Neha Kumari guided discussions on consumer insights, digital marketing, social media engagement, and influencer marketing. Practical training on packaging, content strategy, social media best practices, and
audience engagement techniques provided MSMEs with actionable tools to navigate the evolving marketplace.
The 2-day session was full of interactive sessions, expert Q&As, group activities and collaborative discussions empowering participants to enhance their business growth, improve brand positioning, and stay competitive in today's market.
RAMP is a World Bank-supported scheme of the Government of India aimed at improving access to the market, access to credit, capacity building of MSMEs, etc. As MSMEs in Nagaland continue to expand, aspects such as Packaging, Branding and Marketing are crucial for maintaining competitiveness. The Dedicated Workshop on Packaging, Branding and Marketing with the Experts is aimed at creating actionable learning experience for businesses from Nagaland by supporting them to build their brand, reach new markets and adopt consumer friendly packaging practices.
