The 2nd edition of the Village Fair 2026 was organised by the Green Village Link (GVL) in collaboration with departments of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Industries & Commerce, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Sericulture, Horticulture, Land Resource, NBHM, ICAR- KVK Porba, NKVIB, NABARD, NStCB, SBI, NBDA, RD-NSRLM, CWWs, on 6th October at Chozuba Town Local Ground, Phek. The fair was held under the theme, “Empowering Farmers & Entrepreneurs” powered under LADP 2026. The programme was graced by Advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, as Special Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Yanthan complimented the organisers for organising the Village Fair and was optimistic that the fair would create opportunity for the farmers and entrepreneurs. Acknowledging Kudecho Khamo for utilising the LADF scheme in the Village Fair, Yanthan said like a digital platform updating with new vision and determination, farming is also evolving with advanced technologies, where traditional method of farming is no more applicable. He therefore urged the Government officers to adopt the convergence of agriculture with government agencies and collaborate with entrepreneurs. He asserted that the success of the Village Fair will be measured by production and market. Yanthan hoped that Chozuba would become a real model of production and development as a result of the village fair. The Advisor also provided machineries to the people and released a Coffee Table Book.
Advisor of Airways & Railways, A. Pongshi Phom, who graced the occasion as Guest of Honour also spoke and addressed the gathering.
Advisor for CAWD, Kudecho Khamo, who was the Host of the village fair, extended his best wishes to the farmers. Stressing on the Village Fair, Khamo said the primary objective of the fair was to demonstrate the potential of the village resources and its products. He therefore urged the farmers to utilise the service of the banks judiciously, and encouraged organic cultivation to promote rural economy.
During the program, the Medical Department organised a free screening and health check- up for STDs, TB, hepatitis B & C, blood pressure, blood sugar, malaria and scrub typhus.
The programme was presided by Vekhozo, Convenor of Event Management. Welcome note was delivered by Sevonyi Keyho, Chairman of Chozuba Town Council, while the greeting was expressed by Vezuhu Keyho, President of Chakhesang Public Organisation. Special number presented by Transcend Voice of Chozuba village, and Zito Nyekha ft. Bromagination. Folk song by Vesusalϋ and Nukurhulϋ, and Exhibition of Village Fair stalls was the highlights of one day programme.
The Fair was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, Additional Deputy Commissioner, besides officials from various departments, frontier organizations and neighbouring villagers.
