The 6th Edition Progressive Peren Winter Carnival cum Orchid Festival 2023 from 6-10 December begins at Carnival village, Tepuiki River. The Deputy Chief Minister, Planning & Transformation, National Highway, T.R. Zeliang inaugurated the events as the Special Guest on 6th December 2023 at Tepuiki River. The program was host by Shri. Keyirangding Hegui, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Peren.

Deputy Chief Minister T.R. Zeliang in his inaugural speech said that each culture has its own popularity to showcase and connect people to their ancestors and provide a sense of continuity with the past. Referring to the Orchids he said that orchid is one of the most alluring and captivating flowers that we have in our area. Zeliang also encouraged the people of Peren district to collect and acquire different kind of orchids and promote the district.

Different events such as Tug of war (Men & Women), Strong man competition, Music fest on day one, Volley ball tournament, bamboo rafting, Arm wrestling, King chilly eating, Egg eating and Orchids fashion Parade competition will take place on day two. On the third day Marathon (men & women), Traditional Tricycle flag off program, Bamboo still walk, Top spinning & Henungna competition will be held. On day four snail eating, Bamboo pole climbing competition. The final day events will include catapult shooting, pork fat eating and the Volleyball final match will be held during the Winter Carnival.

Every event will be held with Special Guest: Chingang Konyak, Advisor DUDA Geology & Mining on day two,  Kethosituo Sekhose, Director Youth Resources and Sports, Johny Ruangmei Joint Chief Executive Officer Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority ( NSDMA) Home department respectively. On Culmination day Vineet Kumar IAS Deputy Commissioner Peren will grace the programme as Special Guest.
