The 70th All India Cooperative week was observed under the theme "Role of Cooperative in making India a $5 Trillion Economy and SDGs" at Seili Complex, Kiphire on 17th November 2023. The programme was organised by the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (ARCS), Kiphire with Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, John Tsulise Sangtam as the guest of honour.

The Deputy Commissioner in his speech stated that there are more than 400 registered societies but most of it are not functioning. He said that the Government will support a hard working individual/ society. He also called urged the Cooperative Societies to work hard and build up the society. He added that when the Societies perform well, there is no need for assistance from the Government and the economy of the society will also increase.

Sangtam said that Cooperative Societies should play an active role as they play an important in the district. He encouraged the gathering to change their mindset and go for new ventures and to encourage one another.

SRCS, Tsipongse Anar chaired the programme. Keynote address was delivered by SRCS, K Lirichum Anar while Chumlongse Sangtam, Chairman Atsitsa large Area Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Ltd. Kiphire shared his experience.
