The 7th Inter-Departmental Sports Meet 2025, organized by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, began on 13th November and will continue till 15th November 2025 at the Multi-Disciplinary Sports Complex near ADC Court, Dimapur.

The Inaugural programme was held on 13th November 2025 and the opening prayer was pronounced by Rev. Yhunlo Thong, Chaplain, District Hospital Dimapur Fellowship which was followed by the oath-taking ceremony administered by Kevi, PIS, District Sports Office, Dimapur.

Zakabo V. Rotokha, NCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Dimapur, inaugurated the sports meet, marking the beginning of the three-day inter-departmental event.

The event aims to foster unity, teamwork, and healthy competition among various government departments under Dimapur district. A range of sporting events has been lined up, including badminton (men’s and women’s doubles), table tennis (singles and doubles), carrom, penalty shootout, and tug of war for both men and women.

During the inauguration, Rotokha said that the inter-departmental sports meet serves as a platform to strengthen camaraderie and cooperation among the officers and staff. He added that the participating departments are demonstrating true sporting spirit, discipline, and enthusiasm beyond their official responsibilities. He encouraged all participants to uphold sportsmanship and maintain respect toward umpires, opponents, and spectators throughout the meet.
