The Ministry of Women and Child Development will observe the 7th PoshanPakhwada from 8th to 22nd April 2025 under the overarching framework of Mission Poshan 2.0, focusing on improved nutritional outcomes through Social & Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) and community mobilization.

Since 2018, over 100 crore sensitization activities have been carried out during PoshanMaah and PoshanPakhwada, fostering a Jan Andolan for a well-nourished India.

This year’s Pakhwada will feature outcome-based activities in collaboration with over 20 Ministries/Departments and stakeholders at all levels. Nagaland Government’s convergent departments include – Department of Social Welfare, Department of School Education,   RD-NSRLM, Department of Health & Family Welfare, PHED and Administration, Village Panchayats and communities. The campaign will spotlight four key themes:

  1. First 1000 Days of Life – Emphasizing maternal and child nutrition from conception to age two to break the intergenerational cycle of malnutrition.
  2. Popularization of the Beneficiary Module – Promoting self-registration of eligible individuals on the Poshan Tracker Application, with a focus on increasing registrations and reducing pendency.
  3. Management of Malnutrition via the CMAM Protocol – Enhancing community-level identification, referral, and follow-up of malnourished children using the Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) module.
  4. Healthy Lifestyles to Address Childhood Obesity – Raising awareness on obesity as a public health issue and promoting preventive strategies through community-based events.

The Pakhwada will be supported by a robust media campaign, including nukkadnataks, jingles, radio program and social media engagement to boost awareness and participation.

With a united effort across ministries and community stakeholders, PoshanPakhwada 2025 aims to accelerate the progress towards a Suposhit Bharat, focusing on pregnant women, children, adolescents, and underserved populations.
