The two-day 7th General Conference of Zeliang Officers' Association Nagaland (ZOAN) which commenced on 10th December, 2021 concluded at JTWWO Hall, Jalukie town on 11th December, 2021 with Advisor, Water Resources, Namri Nchang and Leader of the NPF Legislators Party, T.R Zeliang as the special invitees.

Addressing the gathering, Namri Nchang said the officers are the torch bearers in the society and urged them to continue being prudent and pragmatic. He asked the officers present to maintain the spirit of oneness and take steps towards preserving and promoting their own mother tongue. Namri advocated examining and rededicating oneself and work with dedication to bring back the past glory of the Zeliang community.

T.R Zeliang encouraged the officers to work collectively in order to take their community forward, and also stated that each one of them should strive hard to be a good ambassador to the world and for their people in every walk of life.

T.R Zeliang said it is imperative for the younger generation to be inspired and have role models in their life to whom they can look up to, and it is the responsibility of the officers to be role models and shape the future of the students. Further, he suggested orientation program half yearly or yearly for the students so that they will be inspired by their presence and presentation.

On sensitization of developmental activities, Zeliang said that it should be the prerogative of the officers to sensitize the people about the governmental programs, especially the communitized programs of the government which will benefit the people in the rural areas. T.R Zeliang further made two suggestions for the development of the villages and the people- the serving and retired ZOAN officers should adopt one village Primary school; the retired officers who are still capable of working to form an ex-officer association for a good coordination between the serving and retired officers.

Speaking on ''Politics'' and ''Clean Election'', Zeliang said the vicious cycle of "Money for Vote" or "Vote for Money" can be broken/eradicated only through a collective efforts and also if the officers tenders wise and correct advice/guidance to the people.

Earlier, the program was chaired by Convenor, ZOAN, Peren Unit, Er. Asembe Mbung while introductory remark was proposed by ZOAN President, Hiazu Meru and vote of thanks was delivered by ZOAN Vice-President, Er. Achakbo Newmai. 

Later, the business session was moderated by ZOAN Joint Secretary, Keyirangding Hegui, reports were presented by General Secretary & Treasurer, ZOAN, all Units of ZOAN and all Committees & Sub-Committees, ZOAN; followed by discussion hours, adoptions of resolutions and installation of new team.
