The weeklong 9th edition of H.L Singson Memorial Football Tournament 2021, organised by Recreation Club Ahthibung (RCA) began at Public Ground, Ahthibung Town under Peren District on February 9th, 2021 with Commissioner & Secretary, YR&S, Alun Hangsing, NCS as the Special Guest.     He was accompanied by Officers of YR&S dept. and the SDO(C) Ahthibung, Alemyapang, who was also the Chief Host of the event.

            The opening match was played between NMT AHTHIBUNG versus KYSU Medziphema wherein NMT defeated KYSU by 2 goals. 

            Lt. H.L Singson, S/O Lt. Lalkhosei Singson, was an elected representative from the 6th Tenning A/c for three consecutive terms in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. He was the Minister of state for Forest, a sport enthusiast, and a pioneer in students’ activities.

            The Recreation Club, Ahthibung is a body established by Lt. H.L Singson to facilitate youth activities and skills and a memorial indoor stadium was dedicated in his honour.
