The All Nagaland College Students' Union (ANCSU) organized its annual Collegiate Meet held at The Livingstone Foundation International College (LFIC) in Dimapur on 29th October and will culminate on  2nd November, 2024. The event, themed "Enabling Potentialities," aims to bring together all the college students from across the state to explore and nurture their talents in various fields.

The Collegiate Meet serves as a significant platform for Nagaland’s youth, providing opportunities to engage, network, and work collaboratively toward shared goals. The event is anticipated to have a positive impact on the students, fostering a culture of unity and self-development.

The Introductory Guest of the session was Alemtemshi Jamir, IAS (Retd.), Former Chief Secretary of Nagaland while the  Honored Guest was Hokato Hotozhe Sema, a Bronze Medalist from the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Jamir in his address emphasized on the critical role the students play in shaping the future of Nagaland. Held in Dimapur, the event saw the participation of student representatives from various colleges across the state, united under the mission to strengthen educational standards and advocate for the rights of the students underscoring the importance of unity among students. He also urged them to actively participate in campus initiatives, social issues and to stand firm on educational and employment rights. He highlighted the power of the student community in creating a robust academic environment and acting as a bridge between the young citizens and state leaders. Jamir called for increased student engagement in policy advocacy, expressing that a well-informed and united student body can catalyze progress for Nagaland.

He also said that “Students are not just future leaders but they also are the present influencers. Jamir, encouraged the youth to prioritize education, take up leadership roles and work towards a more progressive society.

The event was participated by 39 Colleges from around the district, with more than a thousand students part taking in the event. The programme began with an opening show by the host college followed by an invocation  by Zhimoholi S Zhimomi, Chaplain cum Counsellor at LFIC. H. Kivika Achumi, Vice President of ANCSU, introduced the guests, and L. Achilo Kikon, Assistant Professor of Political Science at LFIC, delivered the welcome address. Dimapur Government College presented a special musical number, and Wapang Head G.B. from Kevijau Colony, Dimapur, extended greetings to the attendees.

The session was chaired by Dzüzüve Swüro, Speaker of the All Nagaland College Students' Union (ANCSU).
