The Anglo-Poula Dictionary in Chakhesang was released at Conference hall, Art and Culture Department, Kohima by former MLA, Deo Nukhu on 4th of October 2024.

MLA & Convener, Chakheasang Poula Literature committee, Deo Nukhu released the Anglo-Poula Dictionary (Chakheasang). During the launching program he said Language plays a vital role in preserving our cultural heritage. Language is your identity, so it is important to develop and preserve our Language.

He acknowledged the role of Art and Culture Department as custodian of Naga culture, Tradition, Art and historical account. Deo said that we all have a collective responsibility in preserving our languages in its oral and Literature form, and hoped that this Anglo- Dictionary in Chakheasang Poula will enrich our collective identity as Naga people and help in preserving the unique languages of the Nagas.

Assistant Professor Nagaland University, Dr. Imlienla Imchen in her introductory note said this Poula Dictionary is the cumulative work of scholars, language expert and Department of Art and culture. She hoped that this effort will be a stepping stone in the documentation and development of the Poula language and literature for future generation to work, build, rework and rebuild on this foundation.

The order of the program includes chairperson by joint Director, Meseno Peseyie, invocation prayer offered by Chakheasang Baptist Church Kohima Associate Pastor, Rev. Vekuo Rhi, welcome address by Joint Secretary Imtitemsu, Folk tune presented by Zhavame Women Society Kohima, and vote of thanks was delivered by Director Art and Culture Adele Moa.
