The Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Chunlikha Block, Tseminyu District, held a series of demonstrations on winter crop cultivation practices and the use of bio-agents in three villages in 24th - 26th October 2024. The events were conducted in collaboration with the District Agriculture office.
On 24th October 2024, a demonstration was held at Ziphenyu village, with 11 farmers from the SHG Chekeno Logwa group participating. The following day, October 25, a similar demonstration was held at Tesophenyu village, with nine farmers from SHG Keso Logwa attending. Finally, on 26th October Yikhanu village hosted the event, attended by eight farmers.
Resource persons ATM Chenobu Seb and ATM Sinlo Khing educated the farmers on nursery preparation, seed and seedling treatments using bio-agents, and soil and moisture management for winter crops. Bio-agents such as Azotobacter and Phosphotica, along with seeds and agricultural tools, were distributed to participants.
Additionally, a new Food Security Group, Yantsa, was formed in Yikhanu, and seed money was provided to SHG Haiwa.
