The awareness programme on alcohol and drug abuse was organized by District Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Committee for Phek at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall, Chozuba on 6th June, 2025.
Dr. Diana Patton, NCS Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) in her address called upon the large gathering people to tackle the issues together as a society the relevant issue, not to stigmatize addicts but encourage the victims. ADC urged the people to lead the addicted individuals to a right path.
Dr. Cthitu Nienu, Extra Assistant Commissioner, was the moderator and chaired the programme. A brief highlight on NDPS Act was presented by Lulun Singson, Officer-In- Charge of Police Station, Chozuba. In addition, Data monitoring & Documentation Officer, Disha for HIV & AIDS, NSACS, NACO, Velato Nienu also spoke and shared a presentation on drugs and alcohol abuse and various treatment options available.
The programme was attended by students from various schools, frontal civil societies, GBs and town councillors.
