Bhandari Town Council dedicated three Sanitation Vehicles at the Summer House-Cum-Guest House, Bhandari, Wokha on 24th September 2025.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bhandari, and Executive Officer, Bhandari Town Council, Longasen Lotha, NCS lauded the Bhandari Town Council for stepping up efforts to improve and ensure systematic and timely waste collection and transportation, to maintain cleaner and healthier environment in all the Wards of the town.
Highlighting on the sanitation vehicles, Chairperson, Bhandari Town Council, Khonthungia Odyuo, stated that the vehicles were provided by the department of Rural Development under Swach Bharat Mission, and would be functional after the dedication.
The Chairperson also appealed to the wards to cooperate with the Town Council by enabling the sanitation vehicles pass through the arterial roads smoothly in their respective areas while collecting household or open wastes.
The programme which was attended by the councillors from the nine wards of Bhandari town, Bhandari Town Lotha Hoho, and Eloe Hoho, Bhandari Town Students' Union, Trade Union, Church leaders, Dobashis and Gaonburas, also deliberated upon public vehicle parking zones and parking taxes and earmarked three sites as parking zones within Bhandari town.
Dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Rev. Longshi Lotha, Pastor, Bhandari Town Baptist Church. The programme was chaired by T. Likao Odyuo, Deputy Chairperson, Bhandari Town Council.
