A Block-level Orientation Programme on the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan campaign was held on 22nd September 2025 at the SDO(C)’s Office, Jakhama, Kohima District.
Chairing the programme, SDO (C) Jakhama, Vineikho Tetso, explained the objectives and significance of the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan. He outlined the reasons for its launch and highlighted how the initiative will benefit tribal welfare and strengthen grassroots governance. The Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan is a national campaign launched by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. Under this initiative, 20 lakh tribal leaders will be trained, with a focus on empowering youth, the poor, and farmers.
Block Master Trainer Kedozo Yhokha provided a comprehensive overview of the Abhiyan, including its implementation strategies, key objectives, and expected outcomes. He emphasised that the campaign aims to promote responsive governance at the village and community levels. Highlighting its potential impact, he stated that the Abhiyan seeks to bring governance closer to the people and improve the delivery of public services in tribal areas. He also called upon all stakeholders, especially tribal communities and youth, to actively participate in the initiative.
Block Master Trainer, Dr Vekholü Venyo, further elaborated that the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan is India's largest tribal grassroots leadership movement, launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. She informed that the campaign will reach over 1 lakh tribals in Nagaland, covering 608 villages under this program.
The programme was attended by officials from all line departments under the Jakhama Sub-Division, along with representatives from nine villages in the Southern Range: Kigwema, Phesama, Jakhama, Viswema, Kidima, Pfuchama, Khuzama, Mima, and Kezoma.
