NDPP State Treasurer, Dr. John Murry speaking at the thanksgiving service held in honour of Longshi Kikon, Councilor Government nominee, Chumoukedima Town Council, at LUC Hall Chumoukedima Town on 3rd February 2025 said that Chumoukedima town cannot remain as a town council and felt that it deserves to be a Municipal Corporation.

He expressed optimism that the time will come very soon when Chumoukedima Town Council will be converted into a municipality.  Dr. Murry expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Niephiu Rio, Advisor Zaleo Rio and Sr. Vice President NDPP, Charles Sekhose for supporting a member from the Lotha community to serve as a Government nominee councilor for the new developing Chumoukedima District.

Dr. Murray further stressed that the nomination of Longshi Kikon as Councilor was a recognition of the 5000 plus Lotha population at Chumoukedima town and said that the Government will expect sincere co-operation and active participation from all the Lotha intellectuals, members and elders in developing the new shaping Chumoukedima district for the welfare of the people.

Government nominee Councilor, CTC, Longshi Kikon thanked Dr. John Murry for his wisdom and unceasing effort in tirelessly working for the welfare of the people. He sought the prayers, cooperation and guidance of all the intellectuals, elders and one and all as he takes on this new mantle to serve the people.

Chairman CLH, Chairman CTC, Chairperson CLEE, Chairman NTC and several speakers congratulated Longshi Kikon.
