A farewell programme honouring the outgoing Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, was held at Town Council Hall, Mon on 6th May 2025.

              The outgoing DC, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, in his farewell speech expressed his gratitude to all the HoDs, Staffs of Administration, Civil Societies, Police Departments and the general public of Mon District for their cooperation and support during his almost 3 (three) year period as the DC. He mentioned that without the Police Department, the Administration cannot maintain Law and Order. He thanked all the Superintendents of Police posted in Mon District during his period. He encouraged officers, HoDs, and Civil Societies to continue to work for the welfare of the people by citing that Mon is a fertile ground, mentioning some potential sectors like Education, Health Sector, and Tourism.  

              During the function, the new Deputy Commissioner Mon, Wennyei Konyak, NCS, was also received. He congratulated the outgoing DC for his successful completion of his tenure as a DC in Mon District and wished him further success in his new assignment. He added that he is delighted and it is a privilege for him to serve his people.

Ajit Kumar Verma will now serve as the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung District. 

Short speeches were delivered by SDPO, Bendang Wati, President, Konyak Union, Tingtok Konyak, President Konyak Nyupuh Sheko, Konyak Students’ Union, CMO, Mon on behalf of Mon DPDB, Martha on behalf of DC Staff Mon Headquarters, and Pakon Phom on behalf of District Administration, Mon.

Programmed was chaired by EAC, Er. R. Mhao Humtsoe, and a special number was presented by Yawang Konyak.
