KOHIMA:
As part of a Statewide Mock Exercise held across Nagaland on 7th May 2025, Kohima district participated in a coordinated air raid precaution drill aimed at enhancing disaster preparedness and public awareness. The exercise was led by Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, NCS, and Superintendent of Police Kohima, Teisovise Metha, NPS.
The mock exercise commenced with the first siren at 4:30 PM, signalling the start of various simulated emergency activities. The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) sounded the Air Raid siren from IPR Directorate at 6:30 PM, followed by a brief two-minute “Black-Out” exercise involving a temporary power shutdown.
Designated locations in Kohima were prepared for the drill: the Capital Convention Centre served as the staging area, a Temporary Hospital was set up at the Directorate of Social Welfare, a Demilitarized Zone was established at the Directorate of Higher Education, and the NPSC Office was marked as the air raid-affected area.
Officials reported that the exercise was conducted smoothly and received positive cooperation.

WOKHA:
Along with the rest of the nation Wokha district also conducted Mock Drill on Civil Defence preparedness and rehearsal with the intention to sensitize the general mass about the status of preparedness level at the district.
The staging area/ incident site was conducted at SP Office, New Complex Wokha. The nature of the incident was based on a search and rescue operation on structural damage caused by fire.
During the exercise, SDRF, HG and CD and F&ES personnel demonstrated how first aid has to be administered and evacuation of casualties and injured persons during emergencies. It was also assisted by the department of Health and Family Welfare in providing first-aid medical service to the injured.
The whole exercise was conducted under the supervision of district administration, Wokha District Disaster Management Authority and other line departments.

PHEK:
Sequence of activities of mock drill exercise for the preparedness of Air Strike attack from external force was conducted at Phek on 7th May 2025. The alert siren was sounded at 4:00 PM from DC office building top tower. The exercise was conducted under the District Level Incident Response System.
Deputy Commissioner, Phek, Rhosietho Nguori was the Responsible Officer, and the District Commandant, Home Guard, Civil Defence & SDRF was the Operational Section Chief during the preparedness mock exercise. The Mock Exercise was successfully concluded by sounding an alert siren.

MON:
Along with the nation, a Mock Drill on Preparedness for Civil Defence Exercise at Mon Town was successfully conducted on 7th May 2025.
The Scenario begins with the serin alert at 4:00 PM on the Air Raid, where the District Commandant, Home Guard/Civil Defence & SDRF Office building was caught fire. On receiving the report, the SDRF Team rushed to Vulnerable sites and retrieved 2 dead bodies, 2 seriously injured, 2 not so serious and 4 wounded. The Black -Out siren was sounded at 6:30 Pm by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Power Shutdown for 2 minutes immediately after the siren was sounded.

TUENSANG:
Along with the rest of the Country, Tuensang District successfully conducted Mock Drill for Civil Defence under operation Code Name " Operation ABHYAAS" on 7th May 2025 at Parade Ground Tuensang Town.
The incident site was located at the DC Office old Building and Petrol Pump. The staging area was done at Parade Ground Tuensang with incident Command post, Search and Rescue Operation, makeshift Hospital, Morgue and Relief Camp with active participation from District Administration, SDRF, Fire and Emergency Services, DEF, CMO, 29 Assam Rifles and DPRO Tuensang. As part of the Exercise there was a total Black Out for Two minutes at 6:30 PM at Tuensang Town.
In the debriefing session, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, DC Tuensang thanked all the Participants for timely dissemination of information, evacuation and search and rescue operation at the time of disaster. Longpoksang Lemtur, SP Tuensang also stated that during the time of real incident one should be ready to follow the steps of the mock drill and timely execution of plan by rescue mission, evacuation, response team and camouflage of important places and run for safer places. Lt. CoL Harsh Jain 29 Assam Rifles, who was the observers of the mock exercise commented that all team has done excellently, and said that mock drill has to be done with all seriousness and learn from the mock drill so that no mistakes are done during the real incident.

DIMAPUR:
A district-level Civil Defence mock drill, code-named “Operation Abhyaas”, was successfully conducted in Dimapur on May 7, 2025, as part of a nationwide exercise initiated by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The objective of the drill was to assess the coordination, preparedness, and response capabilities of various line departments during a simulated air raid emergency.
The DC Office Complex was designated as the staging area and the demilitarized zone, while the office of the Project Director, DRDA, was used to simulate the affected area. A temporary hospital and mobile medical aid centre were established at the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), and the emergency communication centre was activated in the Conrol Room with assistance from the OC Police Radio.
The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), with support from the DPRO and Fire & Emergency Services, activated the town-wide siren using the Mayor Brigade vehicle to signal the commencement of the operation. Ten volunteers acted as mock air offense victims, who were subsequently rescued and evacuated by personnel from the Home Guards, Civil Defence, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). Among the victims, seven sustained minor injuries and three were categorized as major injury cases. The group consisted of three females and seven males.
A power blackout was simulated in the affected area by the Executive Engineer of the Power Department. Fire & Emergency Services demonstrated firefighting techniques at the incident site near the DRDA office as part of the emergency response.
Deputy Commissioner, Tinojongshi Chang expressed appreciation to all the volunteers and personnel from the participating departments. He commended their coordination and commitment, stating that such exercises are vital in enhancing awareness and ensuring readiness for future emergencies. He also thanked media representatives for covering the event and underlined the importance of disseminating public awareness on disaster preparedness and emergency response.
No untoward incidents were reported during the drill, which concluded successfully, reinforcing inter-departmental coordination and emergency preparedness.
Heads of various line departments attended the briefing and actively participated in their assigned roles, contributing to the overall success of the operation.

PEREN:
As part of the nationwide civil defence preparedness exercise, a mock drill under the code name "Operation Abhyaas" was conducted at DC's Complex, Peren on 7th May, 2025, with an aim to assess and enhance the readiness of Civil Defence mechanisms in the event of air raid.
The mock exercise was conducted simulating an air raid scenario in Peren district, where several buildings in the District HQ including the DC's Office has been hit, leading to fire and building collapse.
The exercise began with sounding of an emergency siren by the personnel of Fire & Emergency Services at 4:05 PM, followed by activation of IRS and briefing led by the Responsible Officer, after which a search and rescue operation team involving personnel from DEF Peren, Fire & Emergency Services and Home Guards & Civil Defence were despatched to the incident site.
During the mock exercise, a total of 2 deaths (2 males), 5 seriously injured (all males) and 3 rescued (1 male & 2 females) were reported.
After the completion of the whole exercise, de-briefing was held at DEOC where in DC Peren who is also the Responsible Officer (RO) appreciated the various departments, organisations & officers involved for their cooperation and support in successfully conducting the exercise, and further expected more of such kind of coordination even in the days to come so that the district would be able to deal with such kind of situation.
Major, Pranav P Subramanian, who was the observer commented that, the coordination among the various departments was highly commendable and further urged them to continue working together with the same spirit, to minimized casualties during the real incident.

ZUNHEBOTO:
In compliance to the central directive, Mock Drill on Civil Defence Exercise, staging an instance of an Air Raid, was successfully conducted under the operation code name 'Operation Abhiyaas' at Zunheboto on 7th May, 2025, with active participation from all the concerned departments headed by Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto, Dharam Raj (IAS).

MOKOKCHUNG:
As part of the nationwide Civil Defence Mock Drill, mock exercise was conducted in Mokokchung on 7th May 2025, at different locations in the town.
The mock exercise is being carried out for both authorities and the public to better understand their roles during emergencies.
