The Department of School Education, Dimapur District, and All Nagaland Private Schools Association Dimapur Unit organized a grand Common Teachers’ Day celebration on 5th September 2024 at the Bethesda Higher Secondary School Auditorium, Walford, Dimapur.

Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, who graced the occasion as the special guest, expressed his appreciation and thanked the District Education Officer (DEO) and All Nagaland Private School Association (ANPSA) Dimapur unit for organizing a program to honour teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. He extended heartfelt wishes to all teachers, acknowledging their hard work and dedication in shaping the lives of students.

He specially thanked institutions and teachers who have made provisions for children with special needs, ensuring they receive equal opportunities and are cared for with dedication and compassion. Chang also highlighted the invaluable contributions of teachers, noting that they not only impart knowledge but also inspire and guide students through challenges, nurturing their growth and success.

Reflecting on the essential role teachers play, the DC referred to them as the architects of society, shaping the minds and futures of the next generation. He concluded his speech with a quote from Mustafa Kemal Atatürk: “A good teacher is like a candle—it consumes itself to light the way for others.”

Four distinguished teachers—Martha Angami of GHSS Dimapur, Shikat Shohe of PM SHRI GHS Burma Camp, Imnajungla of Little Star Higher Secondary School, and Limanaro of the Department of School Education, Dimapur District. An Ode to teachers was presented by students of Government Hr. Sec. School, Purana Bazar, and a special song by PM SHRI GHS, Thahekhu.

The program was chaired by Susie Ngullie, Trainer of Teachers (ToT) and began with an opening prayer by Esther Murry, Administrator of Bethesda Hr. Sec. School, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Jevika Kiba, Senior Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO), Dimapur.

The celebration was attended by teachers and students from various schools in Dimapur, representatives from District administration and DPRO office, Dimapur.
