It is with profound sadness that I learn of the passing of the Hon’ble MLA & Advisor, Imkong L. Imchen. A seasoned statesman and five-time elected member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from Koridang constituency.
Throughout his long career, Sir Imchen held several important portfolios and posts; including service as Advisor for IPR and Soil & Water Conservation, and has previously served in ministerial roles covering Rural Development, Power & IPR, School Education, Technical Education, Home, Health & Family Welfare, and Forest, Environment & Climate Change.
Shri. Imchen was also a visible champion for the preservation and promotion of Nagaland's heritage and public outreach. Under his guidance, the Information & Public Relations department undertook archival and cultural initiatives, a reflection of his interest in preserving the State's history while strengthening government-citizen communication. His long years of legislative experience and public engagement earned him respect across party and community lines.
May his family find the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss, and may his noble soul rest in eternal peace. On behalf of those who worked with and benefited from his dedicated service, I extend our deepest condolences and gratitude for his decades of commitment to the people of Nagaland.
