The Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection and the office of the Assistant, Controller Kohima in collaboration with Tseminyu District Administration held a consumer awareness programme on 4th June 2026 at Christian School Auditorium, Tseminyu. Students and staff from Baptist Higher Secondary School, Tseminyu attended the programme.
The program was chaired by Lucy, while the Dy. Controller (LMCP,) Shiloh Kath serve as the resource person.
The resource person highlighted on Smart and Responsible Consumer and said a smart consumer is someone who knows his or her rights and responsibilities, should be well informed, take careful decision in purchase of goods and services, avoid misleading advertisement and fraudulent offer check label and declaration, financial and quality conscious and asserts his/her right, using consumer protection Act and mechanism.
The program witnessed active participation from students. During the interaction session the participants raised questions on Legal Metrology Act 2009, where the resources person clarified and adequately addressed.
The programme concluded with words of appreciation by Dr. Jochuhyulo Tsela administration for Christian School, Tseminyu.
