Deputy Commissioner Kohima Kumar Ramnikant IAS has issued a notification whereby an enumeration exercise is to be conducted of the people and their direct descendants from Garo, Kuki, Kachari & Mikir (Karbi) and Nepali/Gorkhas settled in Kohima district for issuance of HC/PRC:

Garo, Kuki, Kachari, Mikir (Karbi) Settled in the state of Nagaland prior to 01st of December, 1963. Nepali/Gorkhas Settled in the state of Nagaland prior to 31st of December, 1940.

The enumeration shall be conducted by the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima at the village/town levels in the prescribed proforma enclosed and the enumeration sheet must be countersigned by the Village Council Chairman/Municipal Council Chairman (As applicable), Concerned Village GB, Area Administrative Officer, Chairman/President/Representative of the Garo, Kachari, Kuki, Mikir (Karbi) & Nepali/Gorkhas (As applicable) and the Deputy Commissioner of the district.

All copies of final enumeration sheets shall be submitted to the Home Department, Nagaland through the Commissioner, Nagaland and which shall be further placed before the Cabinet for decision.

The schedule for the enumeration exercise is:

Issue of notification on 1st October, 2024. Training of Charge Officers, Supervisors

and Enumerators from 18th to 31st October, 2024. Enumeration Exercise on 1st Nov, 2024 to 31st of January, 2025.

Publication of Draft List on 15th February, 2025. Inviting period for Claims and Objections on 17th Feb. 2025 to 17th March, 2025. Disposal of Claims and Objection on 18th March, 2025 to 21st April, 2025. And the final Publication of the List of Enumeration on 6th May, 2025.
