The Deputy Commissioner Peren, Hiazu Meru directed all area Administrative Officers in compliance with the Government direction and the interest of wildlife conservation to inform all Village Councils under their respective jurisdiction to strictly implement the ban on hunting and trade of wildlife and to impose penalties on defaulters as per customary practices.

Meru further stated that the Sub- Division enforcement Committee headed by the area Administrative Officers, comprising the Police and forest Department are directed to conduct MVCPs to check the sale of wildlife meat. D.C. Peren said that failure to comply with this directive shall lead to prosecution under the relevant sections of the wildlife protection Act 1972.
