The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Chumoukedima, held its 1st Quarterly Meeting and Monsoon Preparedness Meeting on 14th May 2026 at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Chumoukedima.

The meeting was Chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Polan John, NCS where it was attended by Heads of Departments and representatives from various departments.

The meeting discussed on preparedness measures and coordinated strategies ahead of the ensuing monsoon season and emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination and timely action to ensure public safety and minimize risks during the monsoon season.

During the meeting, departments presented their respective action plans on pre-monsoon preparedness. The discussions focused on disaster response mechanisms, flood prevention measures, road connectivity, power supply management, healthcare preparedness, water supply, food and essential commodities, and other emergency response arrangements.

The departments that participated included the Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur; Executive Engineer (Power); Executive Engineer PHED; DCSO Food & Civil Supplies; Chief Veterinary Officer, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry; Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) / PWD (NH); General Manager NHIDCL; and the Superintending Engineer Investigation Cell, Water Resources Department from Chumoukedima.
