The Directorate of Health & Family Welfare celebrated advent Christmas on 17th December, 2025 at Directorate Lobby, Kohima to mark the celebration of Christmas with prayers, hope of blessings and thanksgiving.
Rev. Kedo Peseyie, Pastor City Church Kohima, graced the occasion by bringing message of Christmas. He enlightens the meaning of Christmas from the reference of Bible verse 1 Timothy 1:15 “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. He carried his messages that reflect the true celebration of Christmas by embracing the virtue of Christianity and in celebration of the birth of our Messiah who came to this world to save sinners.
Dr. Mereninla Senlem, Principal Director convey Christmas Greetings on this occasion, and while expressing greeting she stated that despite acknowledging the commercial nature of modern Christmas, one must not forget and emphasized its true meaning of Christmas which is spreading light, peace and the ethics associated with the birth of Christ. She further shared those small gestures of smile, showing empathy and being honest has great impact and it can foster positive, collaborative environment particularly in work place. She encouraged everyone to be a gift to one another through kindness, love and support. Her message concluded with a call for the staff to be a source of joy and peace for those around them during this holiday season.
The Directorate of Health& Family welfare initiated for the first time to acknowledge and felicitate best employee of the year for the year 2025 in different categories: MTS, Driver and Ministerial Staff. In this felicitation the following were awarded: M Meguosonuo UDA, best Ministerial Staff, Tasi, best MTS, Pradip Sunchuri best driver.
Dr. Menguzenuo Margaret Yhome, Director (FW) Chaired the program, while S. Tiakala Longkumer Dy. Director (Nursing) pronounced the invocation prayer and Dr. Keveduyi Theyo, MD NHM prayed the benediction.
All officers, staff, vertical programme, NHM, NSACS, NHPS attended the Christmas celebration.
