A three-day District Level Training programme for the first phase of the Census of India 2027 was successfully conducted from April 16 to 18 at Longleng. The programme commenced with a welcome address by W. Manpai Phom, Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, who emphasized the importance of accurate data collection and coordinated efforts for the smooth conduct of the Census.
The training was attended by the Principal Census Officer, District Census Officer, and all Charge Officers along with accompanying staff. The sessions covered key aspects including census procedures, legal provisions, and roles of functionaries, along with extensive training on the Census Management and Monitoring System (CMMS).
Participants also underwent hands-on training in HLB carving, layout map preparation, mobile app usage, and data verification processes. Emphasis was laid on data ethics, privacy, security, and addressing field-level challenges to ensure data quality and reliability.
The programme concluded with a reflection and valedictory session, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Imkongnukla Ao, EAC, acknowledging the contributions of all officials and participants in making the training successful.
