The Department of Economics & Statistics, Kohima conducted the State High Level Steering Committee (SHLSC) meeting on Support for Statistical Strengthening (SSS) sub scheme under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Sentiyanger Imchen, IAS, on 9th March, 2026 held at the Conference Hall, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima to review and approve the activities.
    The SSS sub scheme is a central sector scheme with 100% funding from the centre aimed at enhancing the capacity of the State Statistical System. The programme, implemented under the aegis of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), seeks to improve the collection, compilation, and dissemination of timely and reliable official statistics to support evidence-based planning and policy formulation.
    During the meeting, the following four reports under the scheme were released:  Report on Income disparity in Nagaland, 2025; Time Use Survey in Nagaland, 2025; Survey on Forest and Forest products in Nagaland, 2025 and Study on rates and ratio used in estimation of Gross Value Added construction for Nagaland.
