Along with the rest of the State Wokha district also conducted Mock drill/exercise on earthquake 24th Oct 2024 at five (5) locations/sites namely, LMS school, PHED Office, Police point, Mhondamo Memorial Nursing Home and APMC.
During the mock drill/exercise disaster incidents such as building collapsed, fire, structure damage, road cut-off and partial building collapse. Rescue operation on Students trapped inside debris, and evacuation of injured were displayed during the mock exercise.
Later after the mock exercise, Deputy Commissioner & Chairman DDMA Wokha, Vineet Kumar, IAS congratulated all teams’ members and volunteers for their active participation and successfully completing the mock exercise.
During the debriefing session, observers also shared their findings where an improvement has to be made in certain areas of operation. SP, Wokha Aotula T Imchen also congratulated all concerned involved for their commendable service rendered and making the exercise a successful one.
Personnel from SDRF, volunteers from Bharat Scout & Guides, Police and WDDMA members took part in the Mock drill/exercise.
