Commissioner & Secretary, Law & Justice, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources and Electoral Roll Observer for Peren District, Y. Kikheto Sema, visited Peren District and convened a meeting with all area administrative officers, Supervisors and representatives of recognised political parties at DC's Conference Hall, Peren on 20th November 2024 to discuss the on-going electoral roll summary revision.

During the meeting, Y. Kikheto Sema emphasized on clean electoral roll revision and said that clean election is possible only when we have clean electoral roll and that is also the desire of the Election Commission of India (ECI). Stating that it is the responsibility of all stakeholders to create or spread the awareness of clean election and clean electoral roll among the masses, he said, it should be included in the syllabus of family prayer meeting, sunday school preaching, elementary education and church.

Sema also urged the representatives from political parties to ensure the removal of deceased voters from e-roll and also actively participate in the summary revision exercise so that no individual who have attained the age of 18 years is left out during the exercise. 

Future, he requested the attendees to work in coordination and give maximum importance of the summary revision exercise and also carry out sensitisation activities through various platforms including social media.

Later, after the meeting, the Electoral Roll Observer also visited some identified polling stations under 7th Peren Assembly Constituency.
