Advisor for Soil & Water Conservation and Information & Public Relations, Imkong L. Imchen inaugurated the Hornbill International Photo Fest (HIPFEST) during the 25th anniversary of the Hornbill Festival at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, Kohima on 1st December 2024.
Speaking at the event, Advisor, Imchen expressed his gratitude to the Department of Information & Public Relations (IPR) and Portrait Enterprise for organizing HIPFEST. He highlighted its significance in inspiring the youth of Nagaland to pursue photography while showcasing the state’s natural beauty to the world.
The photo fest, themed Nature’s Canvas – Celebrating the Beauty of Nature, is a collaborative effort by Portrait Enterprise and the Department of Information & Public Relations.
Ababe Ezung from Portrait Enterprise said that the event received 66 entries this year, including 45 from local photographers. Participants are vying for top prizes of ₹40,000 for first place, ₹25,000 for second place, and ₹15,000 for third place.
HIPFEST 2024 is part of the broader Hornbill Festival celebrations, promoting art, culture, and the scenic charm of Nagaland on an international platform.
