Deputy Commissioner Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS graced the month-long celebration of POSHA Maah, beginning from 1st - 30th September 2024, launching programme of Mon District at DRDA Hall, Mon on 3rd September 2024. The event was organised by the Department of Social Welfare under the theme, “Suposhit Kishori Sashakt Nari”.
In his speech, DC pointed out that the main focus of the government behind POSHAN Maah, is to fight against malnutrition among children, Adolescent Girls, Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers. It is also to bring justice and development in the society. He said, unless the children are provided with nutritional food they will not grow healthy and strong and capable of facing the challenges. He also encouraged them to familiarize and be more responsible with the objectives of the Poshan Maah programme and provide proper awareness at the grassroot level. He appreciated the department for implementing the activities of Poshan Maah in the District and wished for the success of the month-long programme.
A brief note on POSHAN Abhiyaan was delivered by CDPO (ICDS) Mon Project. Welcome Address by Yanlem DPO (ICDS) Mon. Rev. H. Moba, Pastor, KBCM pronounced the invocation. The programme was chaired by Nokyam Khoiyem, District Coordinator, POSHAN. As part of the participating a pledge on Poshan Maah was read out.
