Along with the rest of the World, Tuensang District Celebrated International Women's Day on 8th March 2025 at CKS Hall, Tuensang under the theme "For all Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment". organised by Mission Shakti Tuensang in collaboration with Changsao Thangjam Setshang with Deputy Commissioner & Chairperson Mission Shakti Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa as Special Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC expressed his happiness for high participation of women at the programme and stated that in the context of the Naga Society, women are given equal opportunities in the field of education and employment but less active in decision making. She also urged the gathering not to differentiate between men and women in the field of education, highlighting that many women in the district are Successful entrepreneurs, business women and Cultivators in the society. Women are the backbone of the family and she should be a God fearing, trustworthy and resourceful, she added. The DC also appealed to all the village Council that 25 % of the members should consist of women in the Village Development Board. She also exhorted the women to make use of the Mission Shakti in the district for the betterment of women in the districts.
Highlights of the day were invocation by Kundang CTS; Women in me by Seponglemla Chang, Reigning Miss Chang 2025; Special presentation by Donching Yangmai Saoshuong Thangjam Tuensang Village; Women and Education in Contemporary World by Dr. Zujanbeni N Ngullei, EAC Tuensang; Women Helpline No.181 OSC and Women Centric Issues by Chulongla Chang, Centre Administrator OSC Tuensang and the Vote of thanks was proposed by T. Lungleng DWO & DNO Mission Shakti, Tuensang. The programme was chaired by P. Herola Case Worker OSC Tuensang.
