The Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh Pakhwada 2025 was observed on 10th November 2025, at NSF Solidarity Park, Kohima, with Imtichoba, MLA, Government of Nagaland, gracing the occasion as the Guest of Honour. The programme was organised by the Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Nagaland, Department of Tribal Affairs and funded by Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.

The highlight of the event was the Tribal Tug-of-War Competition, which saw the participation of 14 tribes from across the state, and the Angami tribe emerged as the winner. The contest was moderated by Er. Nagashe Swu.

The celebration also featured a Voluntary Blood Donors Association Camp, supported by a medical team, and an Exhibition of Tribal Art & Crafts, moderated by Imsumerem.

Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh Pakhwada is observed across India to honour the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and contributions of tribal communities to the nation’s history and development. The celebration also seeks to promote awareness about tribal welfare initiatives and to encourage the preservation and promotion of indigenous art, crafts, and customs.
