The Kemmi Block Level Federation (BLF), R.D. Block Peren, promoted by the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission, held its first Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Launching Programme on 30th May 2025, at Town Stadium, Peren. ADC Peren, D. Robin graced the program as the special guest.
In his remarks, Robin commended the SHG members for taking charge of the grassroots-created organizations (SHG and VLO) and for making progress in establishing the Block Level Federation in order to realize and fulfill their goal of having an independent financial institution. He emphasized the importance of taking out a loan to start a sustainable livelihood activity, upscale their products on the commercial line, and give special attention to value additions in their products.
Robin also reminded the members that timely loan repayment is a top priority, and stated that, in addition to seed capital and subsidies through government projects/schemes, even the principal amount is consumed rather than used to carry out the activities as directed. Therefore, he exhorted SHG members to make the best use of the resources provided by NSRLM in order to realize the BLF's vision. As the BLF's name is "KEMMI," each member should be "Kemmi" throughout this mission, and also requested the department to assist in the development of marketing strategies as well as provide management training.
Lungranghei Herie, Head D.B, and Mireulung Sephe, Chairman of the Peren Town Council also attended the program along with his counselors.
The official launching program by the BLF's annual general meeting began, where the AAP, BDP, and ECs' resolution for FY 2025–2026 were adopted and approved.
The newly elected BLF office bearers for the tenure 2025–2027 was headed by Palakle Kenn, President of the Kemmi Block Level Federation.
Lungkubuile, Secretary of BLF, chaired the program, while Palakle Kenn gave the presidential address and Maadi SHG Perenkipeuzang presented a special number.
