The Longleng District Planning & Development Board meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Longleng, W. Manpai Phom, NCS at DPDB hall, Longleng on 14th April 2026.
The meeting commenced with a welcome address by the Deputy Commissioner followed by introduction of new members, and reviewing the previous meeting minutes, where the proposal for establishment of Government Primary School (GPS) Anaki (c) was discussed and forwarded to the concerned department for approval.
While deliberating on adoption of National Highway Act 1956 for land acquisition in respect of National Highway projects, the DC informed the house that the Civil Society Organization and the Government is holding discussions on this issue and a decision is expected shortly.
Discussing census operation, the chairman informed that the first phase will begin from 1st July, and the district level training will be held soon. He therefore urged all HoDs to be in the station and said the officers have a versatile role to play during the census operation.
The house also deliberated on district stakeholders consultation for Viksit Nagaland @2047, where Nodel Officer & EAC Longleng, Er. Vinoh Swu briefly highlighted Viksit Nagaland in the meeting. He informed all the lines department to give a brief presentation on the five SWG pillars such as- Economic, Social, Environment, Infrastructure and Governance during the Viksit Nagaland @2047 scheduled to be held on 17th April 2026. In this regard, the chairman informed that ahead of a state-level consultative meeting in the district, officials have been directed to complete data analysis and examine the functioning of various schemes. All department heads in the district have been asked to attend the meeting to give their inputs, suggestions, to find facts and figures, and departmental plans will be presented to guide future planning.
The department of EE PWD R&B presented a detailed report about their departmental activities through a PowerPoint presentation. The chairman entrusted the Department of Soil and Water Conservation to present their activities in the next DPDB meeting.
The DC reminded the district-level coordination committees constituted under various schemes and programmes to take initiative to ensure that all schemes are properly implemented in the district. He appealed to all HODs and officers to remain at their place of posting and work diligently noting that absentees will be viewed seriously. Officials and staff must fulfil responsibilities and tasks assigned by the higher authorities. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the chairman.
