Under the initiative of the National Commission for Women (NCW) and the Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW) in collaboration with the Niuland district administration organised "Mahila Jansunwai" (Hearing) at DC’s Conference Hall Niuland on 10th March 2026.
Kekhrienuo Meyase, Member, NSCW while addressing the gathering highlighted that the event was organised to provide women with a direct accessible platform to voice their grievances and seek institutional support in regards to domestic violence, works harassment, maternity benefits, abandonment, trafficking and other forms of gender based injustice.
She also mentioned that the churches should play a critical role in eradicating the social evils in the society, and urged the leaders of women organisations not to take law into their hand and discourage them to recourse to customary laws.
Resource persons, Alika Awomi Centre Administrator, Sakhi - One Stop Centre, Niuland and Khumchuba, Panel Lawyer Dimapur District Legal Service's Authority also highlighted the role of their respective branches.
CDPO Niuland, Benjamin Sema chaired the meeting while S. Botoka Jimo, Specialist in Financial Literacy, DHEW Niuland proposed the vote of thanks.
