A district-wide mass social work took place across Dimapur on 25th October 2024, following a directive from the Nagaland state government, which was issued after a Cabinet meeting on 9th October 2024. The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness and improve public spaces throughout the district, with active participation from the District Administration, government employees, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC), Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF), colony and ward chairmen, village council leaders, school and college students, various NGOs, and civil society organizations.
The Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, acknowledged the efforts and contribution of all those involved including Heads of Departments (HODs), councilors of DMC and EDTC, colony chairmen, village council leaders, institutions, and businesses and volunteers who despite unfavorable weather condition worked together to clear the streets, public areas, and community spaces, demonstrating a commitment to making Dimapur cleaner.
Supervisory officers who oversaw the smooth conduct of the activities across different regions were as follows Zakabo V. Rotokha, Additional Deputy Commissioner (NCS), supervised the East Dimapur Town Council, Thungchanbemo Tungoe, Chief Executive Officer, and Vineikho Tetso, Revenue Officer, managed the DMC operations while Dimapur Sadar was lead by Yanthungbemo Kikon, SDO (C) and Litsenthung Kikon, EAC, Dimapur.
