In view of the forthcoming Republic Day celebration, a mass social work was conducted at the District Headquarter, Peren on 23rd January 2026 from 9:00 a.m. onwards. The programme was spearheaded and closely supervised by the District Administration as part of the district-wide preparatory measures for the national event.
Officers and staff from various government departments actively participated in the cleanliness drive, which included removal of dry weeds and litter, and undertaking general sanitation and beautification works in and around their respective office premises and other assigned locations. The initiative aimed at ensuring a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment ahead of the Republic Day celebrations.
The mass social work was also successfully carried out across all offices, schools, and wards under Jalukie Town. In support of the initiative, all business establishments in Jalukie Town remained closed during the social work programme.
