Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Paiwang Konyak, visited the IMDH Mokokchung on 20th November 2024. During his visit, he inspected the local pharmacies to ensure that they were operated by qualified pharmacists and only legal drugs were being sold. He also checked fish vendors to verify compliance with food safety standards, ensuring that formalin-free fishes are supplied. The minister further visited the Ayush Hospital at Sabangya and encouraged to keep up the good facilities provided.
While interacting with the crowd gathered, representatives of Ao Senden expressed concerns about the quality of the materials being used for the construction of the new IMDH building. Konyak assured that all such matters would be thoroughly addressed. While inspecting the ongoing building, he assured that the construction would be completed at the earliest and announced a funding allocation of ₹ 3 crores for the hospital`s completion, along with an additional ₹2 crores for the establishment of a Critical Care Unit.
