A simulated “Operation Night Guard/Air Raid” scenario was conducted at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Dimapur, as part of the 8th edition of the Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx) 2026.

The exercise reviewed a sequence of coordinated emergency response activities across multiple incident sites. At the DC Office, the mock scenario involved structural damage and fire incidents, resulting in 2 simulated deaths, 3 minor injuries, and 4 seriously injured persons. Meanwhile, at the East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC), the drill reported structural damage with 2 minor injuries, 4 seriously injured, and 1 simulated death.

An air raid siren was also activated during the exercise to replicate emergency warning systems under night guard conditions. The drill aimed to strengthen preparedness, coordination, and response mechanisms among various departments and agencies in handling emergency situations.
