Kiphire District Disaster Management Authority held a meeting on Monsoon Preparedness in the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire on 15th May 2025. The meeting was held with respective department's monsoon preparedness plan to ensure preparedness and to mitigate any disaster events at the earliest. The meeting was chaired by DC & Chairman DDMA, Temsuwati Longkumer.
The meeting discussed availability of machineries and equipments under the Deputy Commissioner and subordinate administrative officers including the PWD and Assam Rifles. The meeting decided to hold a social work 24th May 2025 to clear drainages before the onset of heavy monsoon rains at Kiphire. Maintenance of roads will also be carried out for medical purposes and for the safety of the public.
Concerned department and stakeholders present in the meeting mentioned their preparedness to handle the forthcoming monsoon season. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Longdiba L Sangtam, NCS directed all line departments to stay alert and be prepared in their respective tasks.
