Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, George Kurian was on a two-day visit to Tuensang from 1st to 2nd March 2026.
During his stay at Tuensang, he visited Fish Farm Thimka, Tuensang Village and had an interaction with the Fish farmers, where Mhomo Murry, DFO Tuensang highlights key concerned face by the Department like bad road connectivity, infrastructure and need of more fishery ponds for better yielding. DFO also informed that there are more than 80 marginal fish farming in and around the Thimka Fish Farm. The Union Minister inspected the Fishery Pond and Hatchery Tank at the Farm. The Minister also visited District Hospital Tuensang and Parade Ground Tuensang. In the evening the Minister had an interaction with Tribal leaders, Civil Society and BJP Party Unit from Tuensang.
