Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan made his official visit to Longleng district on 18th October 2024. A brief programme was held with the District administration, HoDs of various departments and Civil Society Organisation at DPDB Hall, Longleng. 

Addressing the gathering, the Governor in his speech expressed his pleasure to be visiting the district and highlighted crucial aspect of development accelerated in the state, where he said that the government is committed to creating an environment that fosters growth, prosperity and well being for every citizen. His speech drew attention on several vital aspects of health, water, sanitation, roads and banking which he said needed immediate attention and unified action. 

Asserting that health is of paramount importance and a healthy population is the cornerstone of a thriving community, the Governor urged the stakeholders to improve healthcare facilities. Facilities like providing clean water and sanitation is a fundamental rights said the Governor, and called upon the concern department to implement schemes like Jal Jeevan Mission which will provide safe drinking water to every households. He also mentioned that transportation is equally essential for development and banking services are vital for economic empowerment.  He concluded his speech by encouraging the people to be good citizens by abiding the law and work hand in hand with the government both at the centre and the state.

Deputy Commissioner, Longleng who chaired the programme, proposed the welcome address and presented a brief overview of the district and also highlighted some proposals in regard to Longleng district. The Department of Education, Public work Department (R&B), SBI branch Longleng, Medical Department and PHED gave a brief report of their activities concerning their department.  A short speech was also delivered by the President of Phom People's Council.

The programme ended with a closing remark by the Deputy Commissioner.
