Deputy Commisioner & Vice Chairman of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Niuland, Sara S Jamir, constituted the District Level Committee for Year of Plantation during the DPDB meeting that was held on 26th Feb 2026 at DC Conference Hall Niuland.
The committee will be headed by Nuhuta Tunyi, SDO (C) Kuhuboto and District Agriculture Officer Thepusa Nakhro, as member secretary and all the officers from Agri. and Allied Department including PHE & PWD as members.
It may be mentioned that during the last DPDB meeting the Year 2026 was declared as the year of Plantation.
Jenifer, Vice president, Androit Society Kuhuboto, gave a detail report of the Society’s activities, following which the Board members deliberated and approved the Renewal of Androit Society Kuhuboto 
Er. Karipong Walling, EE & Er. Lhokashe Swu, SDO both from the Water Resource Department (WRD) gave the insightful power point presentation on the departmental activities and ongoing works in the district. DC while acknowledging the eye - opening presentation from the (WRD) also requested the concerned officers to sensitise the public on various schemes and projects through seminars and workshops.
In regards to water logging problem in Niuland Town, the DC urged the Niuland Town Council Chairman, V Samuel Holo and ADC Niuland, S Athsangla to coordinate with Water Resource Dept. for better and effective management of water logging problems in Niuland Town.
