In commemoration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a Pan India District-Level Unity March was organised at Noklak Town on 13th November 2025 to honour the legacy of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, and to promote the spirit of unity and patriotism among the youth. The March was flagged off by SDPO, Noklak, Shikato Swu starting from traffic point to DC’s office, Noklak.

A week-long activity was organized in Noklak District to honour the legacy and to promote the spirit of national integration and unity, and as part of the District- Level Observance, various competitions and events has been conducted. The activities includes essay Competition at Christian High School, Debate Competition at St. Paul School, Talk Lectures at Government Higher Secondary school, Noklak, Poster/banner making at Holy Angel School, Yoga & Wellness at Ayush Hospital, Noklak, and cleanliness drive in all the Government departments and all wards under  Noklak Town.

During the programme held at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Noklak, DC, Noklak, P. Mono Khiamniungan in his keynote address stated that Noklak joined the rest of the country in commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the chief architect of national integration whose statesmanship laid the foundation of a united India. He mentioned that to mark the historic occasion, the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports had launched a two-month-long nationwide youth campaign on 6th October 2025.

He also informed that various programmes had also been conducted in schools across Noklak district as part of the celebration. He further congratulated the District Youth Officer (DYO) and the organizing team for their dedication and effort in coordinating the anniversary programme successfully.

DYO, Mera Yuva Bharat, Kishor Barman  shared the life of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who is also known as the Iron  man of India,  whose life was a shining example of courage, and  commitment to the unity and integrity of India. Born on 31st October 1875 in Nadiad, Gujarat, Patel rose from humble beginnings to become one of the chief architects of modern India.

He mentioned that Patel was not only a freedom fighter but also a nation builder, whose leadership during the Kheda and Bardoli Satyagraha reflected his empathy for the common people and belief in justice and equality. It was during the Bardoli movement that he earned the title “Sardar,” meaning leader. He also highlighted that Patel’s greatest contribution came after independence, when he united more than 560 princely states to form one India, earning him the title “Architect of National Unity.

He further noted that the Government of India observes 31st October as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to honour Patel’s legacy and urged everyone to uphold unity, integrity, and harmony in all spheres of life.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by EAC, Noklak, Bangjunglemba, who also proposed the vote of thanks. Cultural presentation was presented by GHSS Noklak, and GHS, Noklak. Prizes were also distributed to all the winners for various activities. The programme ended with a benediction by Youth pastor, Noklak Town Baptist Church, Thango.
