On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Outung Nagar Van at Tamlu Headquarter, under Longleng Forest Division was inaugurated by C. L. John, Minister, Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Village Guards, Nagaland on 5th June 2025.

During the inaugural programme, C. L. John congratulated the team of Longleng Forest Division and Sitap Range in particular for their efforts in connecting with the people and accomplishing various projects of the department. He urged the village council members, church leaders, students and general public to preserve, and make use of such Urban Centres as their own property by maintaining it well. Minister highlighted that Community has to work together in maintaining the green cover, ban hunting, minimize the plastic pollution and need to show love and compassion for nature and wildlife. He further stated that the Government of Nagaland under the dynamic leadership of Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister of Nagaland was trying its best to uplift every nook and corner of our society through various progressive works.

Rongsenlemla Imchen (IFS), Conservator of Forest (CF), Northern Territorial Council (NTC), Mokokchung delivered the welcome address, while a short speech was presented by Chairman, Tamlu Village Council. The gathering was briefed about the activities of Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP), JICA Project by Dharmendra Prakash (IFS), Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), and Head of Forest Force (HoFF), Environment & Forests and Climate Change (EF & CC), Nagaland. Later, Rama Shankar Prasad (IFS), Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Longleng delivered the vote of thanks and the benediction was proclaimed by Pastor, Tamlu Bumeinok Baptist Church.

Before the formal programme, Minister and other delegates planted the saplings on account of World Environment Day. The gathering later witnessed traditional folk dance performed by Tamlu Town Cultural Troupe and the programme was chaired by Ailong Phom, Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF), Longleng.
