Nagaland first Paralympic Bronze medallist Hokato Hotozhe Sema of P. Vihoto Village Aghunaqa area, Niuland received a warm welcome at Dimapur airport on 19 September, 2024 organised by Western Sumi Hoho and Frontal organisation joined by civil societies, NGO's, CNTC and various tribal Hohos, students’ bodies and people from all walks of life gathered in huge numbers to welcome him.
On arrival he was extended a warm welcome celebrating his remarkable dedication which has etched Nagaland's name in the international sports arena, received accolades after winning a bronze medal in the Men's F57 shotput event at the 2024 Paris Paralympics Games.
Hokato Hotozhe Sema in his short address said that he was overwhelmed by grand welcome and thanked the people for the warm welcome and honouring him and showing their love and full support. He shared his success story, where he said that his goal had always being to win a medal for Nagaland, like other NE states who have won many medals.
He said that before a week to Paris Paralympic, he suffered injuries and was laid down with fever but his determination to win a medal for Nagaland kept him going strong and by God's grace and support of the people won a medal. He is proud to represent Nagaland and creating history by securing bronze medal in the international sports arena. In conclusion, he thanked the people of Nagaland for their prayer and support throughout his journey.
