A large-scale PM Vishwakarma Awareness cum Onboarding Session was successfully conducted at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Longleng on 19th February 2025. The program witnessed active participation from approximately 1000 attendees representing various villages and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).
The program commenced with a keynote address by Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, W. Manpai Phom, who emphasized the importance of the PM Vishwakarma Yojana in empowering traditional artisans and craftsmen. A brief highlight of the scheme was presented by the General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC), followed by a comprehensive detailed presentation on the scheme by KM. The session provided an in-depth understanding of the objectives, benefits, and implementation process of the PM Vishwakarma scheme, encouraging artisans and small-scale entrepreneurs to avail themselves of its various provisions. The event saw enthusiastic engagement from participants, reflecting a positive response toward the initiative.
The PM Vishwakarma scheme, launched by the Government of India, aims to uplift traditional artisans by providing financial support, skill development, and market linkage opportunities. The session in Longleng marks a significant step toward awareness, enrolment, and empowerment of local craftsmen and artisans.
